The Q36.5 Dottore Hybrid Bib Shorts are made for the weeks when summer bibs feel too cold and full tights feel like too much. Q36.5 rates them for 8°C to 18°C, a range that covers cool mornings, shoulder-season group rides and days when the weather shifts between the start and the finish. The Italian brand developed the Hybrid with its pro team, and these cycling bib shorts are aimed at riders who want one pair for the in-between temperatures.

The legs use a brushed knitted thermal fabric. The brushed face adds warmth, and Q36.5 describes the goal as an unrestricted, "not-even-there" feeling rather than the bulk of a heavy thermal short. The shorts weigh 180 grams in size M, so the warmth comes without much added weight. The fabric blend is 57% polyamide, 39% elastane, 2% polyester, 1% acrylic and 1% silver. Q36.5 also lists reflectivity and water repellency as features. Treat the water repellency as a bonus on damp roads, not a replacement for a rain layer.

A lumbar panel of high-density woven fabric sits across the lower back. Q36.5 says it adds compression to create a zone of support for the lumbar and gluteal muscles, which is the area that tires on long rides. The Hybrid comes in Ice Grey, Black and Nautica Blue, in sizes XS to XXL. The size chart lists chest, waist, height and weight for each size, so check it before ordering.

The Dottore Hybrid is a good choice for riders who put in miles through spring and fall and want a single bib that handles the temperature swing. If your rides are mostly above 18°C, a summer bib will be more comfortable, and below 8°C you will want tights or leg warmers.
